Here is something for Winter…

Now is the time to think of winter protection for your plants in areas where heavy frosts are experienced.

To protect large shrubs place four stakes round each shrub and drape frost cover over the shrub every night. Remove the cover every morning and recover every evening.

Should you not remove the cover for a day or two the plant will survive so going away for a day or two is ok. Protect the roots of the plants by covering them with a layer of mulch.

Water the garden about once or twice a week as there is no rain for the next few months. It is advisable to water the garden early in the morning so that the foliage can dry before nightfall.

Feed the plants once a month with multi-feed P or Seagro fish emulsion so that they can grow steadily throughout the winter months.

Keep warm and enjoy the Winter months!
